Installation Instructions:
- download and unpack the AEAudioPlayerWebpart.zip file.
- download the Audio & Video Podcast Web Part Installation Instructions (PDF file, see above)
- either install the web part manually or deploy the feature to your server/farm as described in the instructions.
- Navigate to a page where you would like to place the webpart and choose "Site Actions/Edit Page"
-
Add the web part to the appropriate zone. The web part is listed in the "Amrein Engineering" web part gallery section
-
Configure the following Web Part properties in the Web Part Editor "Miscellaneous" pane section as needed:
- Site Name: Enter the name of the site that contains the Sharepoint List containing the audio files.
- leave this field empty if the List is in the current site (eg. the Web Part is placed in the same site) - Enter a "/" character if the List is contained in the top site - Enter a path if the List is in a subsite of the current site (eg. in the form of "current site/subsite")
- List Name: Enter the desired Sharepoint Document Library containing the audio files.
If the List contains a Title and/or a Description column, the text contained in these columns will be displayed above the audio player control. If you want to display only the images contained in a specific Library folder, append the folder name (separated by a "/") to the Library name: Example: Media Files/MP3s
- View Name: Optionally enter the desired List View of the list specified above. A List View allows you to specify specific data filtering and sorting. Leave this field empty if you want to use the List default view.
- Audio File Name: Leave this field empty for random selection of an audio file or enter the name of the desired audio file to be played back
Web Part Connection: You alternatively can create a Web Part Connection between the Sharepoint List and the Audio Player Web Part as follows:
- switch the page to "Edit" mode - Choose "Connections" from the List Web Part "edit" menu - Choose "Provide Row To" - Select the Audio Player Web Part in the menu
Below is an example of a web part connection using a custom List View with only the "Title" column selected:
- Show Playlist: lists all the audio files contained in the specified Sharepoint Library as a playlist for manual media file playback selection.
If the Sharepoint Library/List contains a "Title" column, the playlist will show the values taken from this column. Also, if the Sharepoint Library contains a "Description" column, these values will be shown in the playlist. Please note that the playlist will be suppressed if a file name has been entered in the "Audio File Name" field.
- Play all Files: check this field if you want to play all the selected audio files in succession without user intervention.
- Autoplay: check this field if you want to start the audio playback automatically without user intervention.
- Header Text: enter an optional header text to be displayed in the header section. Please note that you can embed HTML tags if needed.
Example: <P align=center>Enjoy our music!</P>
- Footer Text: enter an optional footer text to be displayed at the bottom of the web part. Please note that you can embed HTML tags if needed.
- License Key: enter your Product License Key (as supplied after purchase of the Audio Player Web Part license key).
Leave this field empty if you are using the free 30 day evaluation version. |
