NEXOR LDAP Address Book Service Provider

NEXOR Ltd

The NEXOR LDAP Address Book Service Provider eliminates the effort required to maintain personal address books. Using MAPI, it connects Microsoft ExchangeTM Clients to enterprise directories using the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). Users of the Microsoft Exchange Clients currently gain fast access to recipient details with their Personal Address Book. Full contact information can be stored there and email addresses are easily copied into outgoing messages. However, the downside of this feature is that each user is tasked with the time-consuming process of maintaining their own supply of data. Whenever an individual joins or leaves an organisation, each employee must amend their own address books. NEXOR introduced the LDAP Address Book Service Provider to prevent this wasteful duplication of effort. When a user starts up Microsoft Exchange, the LDAP Address Book Service Provider connects to the specified directory server and pulls across the addresses of all individuals within that organisation. The data is renewed every time a user starts up their email client. This ensures it is both up-to-date and accurate. From the user's point of view, they effectively have an address book which is maintained by someone else.
